Demolition of the existing five-story, concrete Meyer Library building; safe-off and re-route of the existing site utilities, abatement, and conversion of the vacated site into a landscaped park.
The first phase of the project was the completion of the feasibility study, which served to define the program requirements, demolition options and cost estimates. The feasibility phase set the limit of site work; assessed all cost, scope and schedule parameters; and highlighted risk areas.
Following the feasibility phase, Level 10 proceeded with the programming, schematic design, design development and construction document phases of work—with some of the phases running concurrently.
The project also included several make-ready elements prior to building demolition. Underground utilities were re-routed, surrounding buildings using Meyer’s electrical power had to be made independent, and the E-Siren & Cell Towers on top of Meyer were relocated. Project required nearly four months of abatement.
