The administration/training space is shared by Sunnyvale’s Department of Public Safety (DPS), which provides police, fire and emergency medical services under one model of service. Providing another new resource, an open 30,000 SF training area was programmed behind the station for training exercises and drills.

The project also involved full demolition of existing buildings and underground infrastructure. The 71,992 SF of site work involved installation of all new utilities and connection to existing systems, including gas, electric, sanitary sewer, storm drains, domestic and recycled water, fire hydrant lines, and high voltage and communication systems. This process required countless hours of coordination with all entities that have utilities that cross through and around the campus, as well as coordination with surrounding businesses to assure zero impacts to their operations during the course of our rebuilding efforts.
