30,150-sq.-ft. seismic retrofit upgrade and renovation of the student facility, a timber structure originally built in 1922. Work included core drilling and pinning of concrete structure, adding shear walls and footings, and wood-frame strengthening, which required clay tile roof removal and reinstall.
Project also included adding an elevator system, relocating stairs, revising the floor plan, performing MEPF and other upgrades, improving and upgrading the 18,600-sq.-ft. courtyard area outside the building, and completing below-grade repair and waterproofing.
The building was partially occupied during construction. Self-perform roof structure.
